An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has helped recover a missing child in the Siberian forests of Russia.
RT reports that a search team comprising 60 people used UAVs, dogs and helicopters to cover over 18 square miles of land in the Yakutia Republic and find the girl, who was only four years old.
The child, who had been lost for 12 days, was discovered sitting among tall shrubbery and is in “stable condition,” the report says.
Following a court ruling, Texas EquuSearch, a volunteer organization that searches for missing persons, recently resumed using UAVs after having received a warning from the Federal Aviation Administration to stop doing so. Last month, UAVs aided in the search for a missing elderly man in Wisconsin.
