Sinclair Community College, based in Dayton, Ohio, has expanded its partnership with Altavian Inc. to include the company’s newly launched fixed-wing Nova F7200 and Galaxy R8700 unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for training purposes.
In 2014, Sinclair’s National UAS Training and Certification Center became Altavian’s original equipment manufacturer (OEM) training provider.
The center will provide training for the F7200 and R8700 through three-week online prerequisite courses, followed by three-and-a-half-day hands-on instruction and flight operations – thanks to Sinclair’s Section 333 exemption and multiple Certificates of Waiver or Authorization. Training may occur in the Dayton region or at other approved sites nationally that are convenient to Altavian customers.
“As Altavian’s national OEM training provider, we are very pleased to expand our partnership,” says Deb Norris, senior vice president for Sinclair workforce development. “By working together, we are advancing the UAS industry, establishing the national benchmark of professional UAS training, and developing business for both the Dayton region and the national market.”
