Montreal, Quebec-based Fluttrbox, a provider of a drone and analytics software platform for property and casualty (P&C) insurers, has launched a drone pilot program with Urbandale, Iowa-based Continental Western Group (CWG), a commercial lines P&C insurance provider serving 13 states in the middle U.S.
According to Fluttrbox, CWG was looking to improve and streamline underwriting and claims processes for the company’s range of insurance products – including auto, liability and property – by using aerial photography. Therefore, it turned to Fluttrbox for help with the task of not only gathering aerial images but also analyzing the imagery and data.
“Fluttrbox offers an affordable entry model for P&C insurers looking to utilize drone technology for an immediate ROI because we don’t require customers to buy equipment or hire, license and onboard operators,” explains Aristo Mohit-Coker, founder of Fluttrbox.
Fluttrbox says its technology removes the complexities of resource allocation for on-site monitoring, including capital expenses required for equipment, talent acquisition, regulatory compliance, information gathering, data storage and management, and documentation.
“Part of the attraction of a drone program for CWG was the possibility of a reduction in loss-adjustment expenses and an increase in underwriting accuracy,” notes Doug Pearson, senior vice president and chief underwriting officer for CWG.
