Iowa News Station Deploys its Own ‘SkyLink 4’ Drone

KTIV, a television news station based in Sioux City, Iowa, is launching its new unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), dubbed the SkyLink 4 drone.

According to its own report, KTIV’s Federal Aviation Administration-certified drone pilot, Jake Rains, also serves as the station’s promotions and public service announcements coordinator. In addition, he has been flying UAVs for more than two years.

Bridget Breen, KTIV’s station manager, says the new drone is the station’s “first step into this new technology.”

“This is a big advancement for us and how we can bring our viewers the best possible news coverage in Siouxland,” she says.
