Gov. Terry Branstad, R-Iowa, is up for looking at legislation that would regulate the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Iowa.
Such a bill is under discussion in the Iowa state legislature. Branstad believes that UAVs ‘could be effective tools for law enforcement in some situations,’ according to an article by the Sioux City Journal.
However, Branstad notes that the use of UAVs by law enforcement agencies ‘would have to be balanced with citizens' constitutional rights and concern for potentially unintended consequences.’
