Amimon has introduced CONNEX, a high-performance, wireless, HD-video link for multi-rotor drone platforms.
According to the company, CONNEX – available for $1,599 – makes it easy and affordable for drone users to outfit virtually any size and shape of drone with long-range, full-HD video transmission capabilities with zero latency.
The plug-and-fly system features 5 GHz transmission frequency with 2×5 multiple-input/multiple-output and automatic channel selection to ensure resilient connectivity at all times – free from drone control interference and other 2.4 GHz radio links, says Amimon.
A CONNEX system supports multicasting for up to four screens simultaneously. It can transmit HD video up to 1,000 meters (3,000 ft) to the ground unit and is capable of displaying telemetry information using its built-in on-screen display, as well as sending control commands via an S-Bus protocol to the gimbal in the air unit.
The lightweight package includes all antennas, cables and connectors required for air- and ground-unit setup.
CONNEX is suited for broadcast, inspection, aerial photography, crowd control and other applications that require control of both the camera and drone in real time, according to Amimon.
