3DR has announced a new integration of its Site Scan drone platform with Autodesk’s BIM 360 project management tool.
3DR’s flagship product, Site Scan, is a drone-to-data platform allowing enterprise and commercial users to collect and process aerial data, perform inspections and improve business operations. It was most recently integrated with the DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone and Pix4D’s photogrammetry engine.
Explaining the new integration with BIM 360, a 3DR blog says, “With this one-of-a-kind partnership, made possible through the Autodesk Forge platform, it’s easier than ever for entire project teams – including project managers, engineers, subcontractors, superintendents and more – to access drone data and use it in their day-to-day work.”
3DR says Site Scan customers can now “overlay up-to-date design files” by pulling the files from BIM 360 into Site Scan, overlaying them into the orthomosaics and “compar[ing] design to reality”; share drone-captured data with the entire construction team through the BIM 360 account; and “solve problems in the field.”
