UAS Rulemaking Now in Federal Register; Will Go into Effect Aug. 29

The Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) final rulemaking for small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) made its way to the Federal Register today and will officially go into effect on Aug. 29.

The FAA announced its long-waited rules for commercial UAS operations one week ago today. As part of the announcement, the agency said the rules would take effect in 60 days – marking an approximate late-August implementation.
