CGQ, a nonprofit geomatics organization headquartered in Quebec, has purchased Ottawa-based ING Robotic Aviation's Responder unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to use as a tool for aerial data acquisition.
According to ING, the aerial imagery collected by the UAV will contribute to CGQ's scientific research activities in the geomatics field. Geomatics is a science that involves gathering and processing geographic information.
ING notes that it has sold CGQ a complete Responder vertical takeoff and landing robotic aircraft, including a portable ground control system and ancillary equipment.
In addition, the company says it will provide a one-week training package upon delivery of the UAV this spring. ING notes that it will also offer support services to CGQ.
