Drone Delivery Canada (DDC) has signed an agreement with Wolseley Canada Inc. to collaborate on the potential implementation of a drone delivery solution to expand Wolseley Canada’s distribution capabilities.
Wolseley Canada provides wholesale distribution of plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, waterworks, fire protection, pipes, valves and fittings, and industrial products. With its head office in Burlington, Ontario, the company has approximately 220 locations coast-to-coast.
Using DDC’s drone logistics platform, Wolseley Canada’s testing will focus on customized depot-to-depot and depot-to-customer solutions.
If the testing and development are successful, the companies plan to proceed with a definitive agreement once applicable government legislation is enacted (estimated for the fourth quarter of this year or the first quarter of 2018). DDC says it will be responsible for its own costs and expenses with respect to the testing and the development of the drone solution.
