1040_davinci AES Debuts DaVinci Unmanned System for CinematographersAustin, Texas-based Ascendant Engineering Solutions (AES) is launching a stabilized cinematography camera system, the DaVinci.

The DaVinci unmanned aerial system, being introduced by AES at the upcoming National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference in Las Vegas, combines AES’ gimbal with a RED Epic Dragon 19-megapixel camera.

The DaVinci gimbal weighs 15 pounds (or 23 pounds with the RED camera integrated), and the entire gimbal and camera system can be packed into a single carrying case.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-compliant camera system can be operated wirelessly while mounted on a rotary-wing aircraft or vehicle to provide super-HD imagery. The system also features a number of different zoom lens options.
