Sentera, a Minneapolis-based designer, developer and manufacturer of remote sensing technologies in the agriculture, infrastructure and public safety industries, has announced a new partnership with total solutions provider RDO Equipment Co.
Founded in 1968, RDO Equipment Co. sells and supports agriculture, construction, environmental, positioning, surveying and irrigation equipment from manufacturers including John Deere, Vermeer and Topcon. The company has 78 locations across the U.S. and partnerships in Russia, Ukraine and Australia.
This partnership augments RDO Equipment’s product offering by giving its customer network access to a variety of Sentera’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) solutions, including quadcopters, precision sensors and the AgVault software.
“Sentera’s complete, easy-to-use and affordable UAV solutions are a natural fit with the RDO Equipment Co. product portfolio,” states Jeff Lemna, director of customer support at RDO Equipment Co. “The offering fills a need for our precision agriculture customers who are just entering the UAV space.”
RDO Equipment Co. will offer the following Sentera products:
- Phantom 4 & 3 normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) upgrades: Transforms new or existing DJI Phantom 4 or 3 UAVs into precision scouting tools;
- Sensors: Captures hyper-precise, near-infrared imagery and produces NDVI maps;
- AgVault software and mobile app: Allows users to view crop health imagery and historical data at the field edge and quickly transfer prescriptive analytics into farm equipment;
- UAVs: Includes the DJI Phantom UAV family of products.
“We are excited to extend our proven product offering to the RDO Equipment Co. extensive customer network,” says Kris Poulson, vice president of agriculture at Sentera. “Partnering with RDO Equipment Co. gives more agriculture professionals access to new, advanced agriculture solutions.”
Currently, six RDO Equipment Co. stores are offering the DJI Phantom UAV with the Sentera single sensor and access to Sentera AgVault software: Yuma, Ariz.; Breckenridge and Moorhead, Minn.; Bismarck, N.D.; Aberdeen, S.D.; and Pasco, Wash.
RDO Equipment Co. expects to expand the offerings to additional stores.
