Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Quanergy Systems Inc. has developed the S3-Qi, a miniature, solid-state LiDAR sensor with a 1” x 1.5” footprint, weight of about 100 grams and low power consumption.
According to the company, the S3-Qi is suited for drones, intelligent robotics, security, smart homes and industrial automation. Mass production of the S3-Qi is targeted for the first quarter of next year.
The company says this model is 15% smaller than the S3 LiDAR sensor, which Quanergy released four months ago.
Quanergy notes that its LiDAR sensors have applications in more than 30 market verticals, including security, transportation, terrestrial and aerial mapping, and industrial automation.
Louay Eldada, CEO of Quanergy CEO, states, “In drones, payload and battery runtime benefit greatly from our compact sensors.”
