LSU AgCenter Holding UAV Seminar for Farmers

Louisiana State University Agricultural Center (the LSU AgCenter), one of 11 institutions within the Louisiana State University System, is holding a drone seminar suited for farmers, consultants and anyone else involved in crop production, forestry, nurseries and cattle operations.

The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) seminar will be held March 16 at the State Evacuation Shelter on U.S. Highway 71, south of Alexandria, La. The session will run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

According to the LSU AgCenter, topics to be covered include federal rules and regulations, the use of UAVs for crop scouting, the analysis of imaging data, and options for different types of drones.

Demonstrations of drones in flight and processing software also will be conducted.
