Science Channel’s new DRONED television series is premiering next Friday, July 22, at 6:00 p.m EST.
According to Science Channel, a division of Discovery Communications Inc, the series – shot on location in countries including the Bahamas, Mexico, Barbados, Canada and the U.S. – follows a drone company and its clients and explores the impacts of the technology, including for search and rescue, wildlife tracking, first-person-view racing, and shark identification.
On the July 22 premiere, the crew is teaming up with the Marine Search & Rescue Department at a Fort Lauderdale, Fla., fire department to test a drone that can save victims stranded in deep water. Later, the team goes to Los Angeles to film a chase scene with three parkour/free-running athletes and helps a sailboat race crew improve their performance.
DRONED is produced for Science Channel through Reckognition Productions. Erich Recker, Fred Paik and Ryan Haake serve as executive producers in conjunction with Mike Israel, Jeff Timmons and Dan Edwards of AirVuz.
