AeroVironment, Lockheed Martin to Jointly Explore UAS Market Opportunities

AeroVironment Inc., an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) solutions provider, and Lockheed Martin Corp., an aerospace company and systems integrator, have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly pursue opportunities in UAS development in international markets.

According to AeroVironment, the primary focus of the agreement relates to integrating Lockheed Martin mission systems, ground systems and technology with AeroVironment's Global Observer UAS.

‘Using our expertise in systems integration and AeroVironment's knowledge of unmanned aircraft solutions, we will together look for opportunities to develop innovative technologies that create value for new and existing customers,’ comments Paul Lemmo, Lockheed Martin senior vice president, corporate strategy and business development.
