Spaceport America – a purpose-built, commercial spaceport in southern New Mexico – has introduced five annual events, including the Spaceport America Drone Summit, taking place Nov. 11-13.
Spaceport America says the event will host drone pilots, speakers, vendors and spectators for three days of drone racing, drone workshops, fixed-wing demonstrations and more. The summit is sanctioned by the Academy of Model Aeronautics and supported by New Mexico Filmmakers Give Back.
Spaceport America says its FAA-licensed complex, situated on 18,000 acres adjacent to the U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range, boasts 6,000 square miles of restricted airspace, a low population density, a 12,000-foot spaceway, and 340 days of sunshine and low humidity.
