Yuneec International Co. Ltd. and Mobilicom Ltd. have formed a new strategic partnership for the commercial and government drone markets.
The cooperation focuses on the development of two drone solutions, based on Yuneec’s H520 hexacopter and Mobilicon’s SkyHopper and LTE technology. Headquartered in Israel, Mobilicom is a provider of mobile wireless communications solutions.
Both new drone solutions, which will be called H520 SkyHopper and H520 SkyHopper LTE, will incorporate cyber security and encryption, dedicated frequencies, and interference-avoidance capabilities. They will be offered as customizable, flexible and scalable end-to-end solutions, according to the partners.
“In listening to the needs of our commercial and federal customers within this segment, it was our objective to come up with a solution that would answer their pain points. The partnership with Mobilicom enables us to successfully address these unmet needs and offer them two groundbreaking products,” says Joe Schamuhn, vice president of global sales for Yuneec International.
Furthermore, the small unmanned aircraft systems offer a complete solution with add-ons for teams on land and sea, flexible payloads, and optional capabilities such as RTK/PPK precision. They are designed for long-range, beyond visual line of sight, and urban operations within applications including security, public safety, disaster relief and naval operations.
Mobilicom’s CEO, Oren Elkayam, says, “SkyHopper brings a high-end, end-to-end solution for the government, federal and commercial market, embedded into Yuneec’s mass-marketed, proven commercial drone system. This offering serves as an unmatchable, cost-effective drone solution for the commercial and government market.”
The solution is launching officially at UTSec, the Summit for Drones, Unmanned Technology and Security, in Nuremburg, Germany, on March 6-7. Further details and specifications of the solutions will soon be announced.
