Glen Allen, Va.-based RTS Labs has developed a prototype unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that would act as a lifeguard for swimmers.
The UAV, called Pars, ‘would be able to drop off life vests in the water and use a heat scanner to find people in the dark,’ according to an article by UPI.
The article notes that the UAV charges via solar power. RTS is seeking funding for its research.
