VIRES Aeronautics Raises $1M for Development of UAV Wing Design

San Francisco-based VIRES Aeronautics, developer of a wing design for small-to-midsize unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), has announced a $1 million Series AA round of financing.

According to VIRES, the funding will help enable the company to meet increasing customer demand for extended UAV flight time. VIRES says that Draper Associates led the round, with participation from Lemnos Labs, VegasTechFund, Promus Ventures, Lance White, Don Hutchison and Toivo Annus.

The company notes that its wing design helps allow UAVs to take off and land faster, fly longer, carry more, and consume less fuel.
