National Business Aviation Association Adds Unmanned Offering

The Unmanned Safety Institute (USI) says its online “Small UAS Ground School” has been approved for participation in the National Business Aviation Association’s Professional Development Program (PDP).

According to USI, this is the only PDP-approved offering on the topic of unmanned aviation. The institute says the course meets PDP objectives “Operations Ops7 and Ops9” and will give participants six points for the certified aviation manager (CAM) program application and four points for the CAM re-certification.

Per the NBAA acceptance letter, the NBAA’s PDP review committee felt the course had “overall substantial coverage of the operations objectives,” and that the “application materials submitted were complete and easy to follow.”

“We commend NBAA for their foresight and their commitment to industry-wide aviation safety,” says Josh Olds, vice president of operations for USI. “Our program is based on proven aviation safety fundamentals and establishes a foundation from which to grow and evolve UAS operations from.”

USI is a division of ARGUS International Inc., which acquired the company last year.
