An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashed into a building in downtown St. Louis on May 5.
A DJI Phantom 2 quadcopter hit the Metropolitan Square building at about 4 p.m., landing on a 30th floor balcony, according to an article by KDSK.com. The UAV was damaged in the crash.
St. Louis law enforcement officials are now in search of the aircraft's owner.
Separately, the city's police department is attempting to get a certificate of waiver or authorization from the Federal Aviation Administration in order to deploy UAVs for police activities.
