A resident of Linden, N.J., called the police on Thursday of last week after a small drone that was buzzing around the neighborhood crashed into her roof.
According to coverage from a local CBS affiliate, the camera-equipped DJI Phantom 2 “landed right up near the top of the fire escape and some dormer windows,” causing quite a bit of “commotion.” Both the police and fire departments responded to the scene.
“I was looking up in the sky and we see the drone actually, you know, like, up there,” homeowner Jane White told CBS2. “And when I came back around the corner, I heard it crash.”
The operator of the UAV reportedly called authorities and admitted fault but did not give a name. Police were still looking for the operator as of late Friday.
