QuadH20, a drone company based out of the U.K., has unveiled what it says is a waterproof unmanned aircraft system (UAS) that can fly in the rain and snow and even land on water.
Featuring DJI’s 4K X3 camera and gimbal system and an HD-video downlink supplied by DJI’s Lightbridge 2 system, the HexH2O Pro V2 hexacopter is controlled via the DJI Go App and offers a flight time of 30 minutes, the company says.
The HexH2O Pro V2 also has folding arms for easier transportation; buoyancy aids to add stability when the drone lands on water; and a propulsion system featuring DJI E800 motors and 13-inch, quick-release props. It also features advanced flight controls such as mission planning and waypoints and has a 3.5-kilometer flight range.
QuadH20 says its other waterproof UAS – the QuadH20, HexH20 and SaraH20 – have been used for search and rescue, first response, industrial inspections, and scientific research.
The company is releasing the new product on March 31 and offering it for $6,449.
