Beijing, China-headquartered Powervision Robot Inc. has announced its first consumer drone, the PowerEgg – a foldable, egg-shaped aircraft, which will be available early next quarter.
The easily transportable PowerEgg, developed by the Powervision team for more than 18 months, includes a 360-degree, 4K HD camera on a three-axis gimbal; real-time, long-range video transmission; advanced optical-flow sensors for indoor navigation; and an easy-to-use remote control.
“Powervision wanted to create a beautiful yet functional design for the PowerEgg,” explains Wally Zheng, CEO, who adds that the egg-shaped design makes the aircraft both a “flying robot” and a “work of art.”
Powervision says more details on the drone, including the price, will be available soon.
The company – which has offices in Shanghai, China; Shenzhen, China; Silicon Valley; Boston; Helsinki, Finland; Perth, Australia; and Frankfurt, Germany – says it has been providing drone-related products and services since 2010, including smart drones, data visualization and forecasting, virtual reality, and augmented reality.
