Switzerland-headquartered Pix4D has released Version 1.3 of Pix4Dmapper, software that converts aerial images from manned or unmanned aircraft into geo-referenced 2D mosaics and 3D surface models and point clouds.
Pix4Dmapper V1.3 includes a mesh feature, which allows users to create a 3D textured mesh, which can be used in fly-through animations or shared in 3D PDF format.
Another feature is graphics processing unit (GPU) support, which can increase the processing speed by 10% to 75% or be used for densification or semiglobal matching.
The new version also includes automatic brightness and color correction, which can improve the aesthetics of orthomosaics or be used in the reflectance map. Users also now have more selection tools for managing points.
In November, Pix4D released a Pix4Dmapper app specifically for DJI Phantom operators.
