New York Representative Lands Spot on Aviation Subcommittee

U.S. Rep. Richard Hanna, R-N.Y., has been appointed to the Aviation Subcommittee by House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster, R-Pa.

The Aviation Subcommittee oversees all programs, except for research activities, of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), including unmanned aircraft system (UAS) programs. Hanna, who is a pilot, has been a member of the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee since 2011.

Hanna's district is home to more than 20 airports, including Griffiss International, which the FAA selected as one of six national UAS test sites in late December 2013.

‘I especially look forward to working on this committee to improve our infrastructure, ensure air travel is efficient for passengers and pilots, and support our new UAS test site based in central New York,’ comments Hanna.
