Miami Hurricanes Fly UAV Over Football Practice

The University of Miami has adopted unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology as a learning tool for the school's football team.

The Associated Press reports that the Miami Hurricanes started using a UAV this fall to record aerial footage of team practices in order for the players and coaches to watch later from unseen angles.

James Coley, offensive coordinator of the team, purchased the $500 aircraft – which has a flight time of around eight minutes for each battery – but the organization plans to upgrade to other UAVs in the near future.
