John Deere Dealer Selling UAVs for Farming

By UAO Staff

John Deere Dealer Selling UAVs for FarmingJ D Equipment, Ohio's largest John Deere dealer, has entered into an agreement with Indiana-based Precision Drone LLC to sell helicopter-style unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to agricultural customers.

The hexacopters will permit customers to visually inspect field and crop conditions and more efficiently manage their farming operations, the company says.

Users can increase crop yields and decrease the time costs associated with walking through fields or manned aircraft flyovers. With Precision Vision imaging systems, farmers can instead view video showing the health of their crops.

A live demonstration of the technology will be on display at the Fifth Annual World’s Largest Combine Clinic, which is being held at J D Equipment’s London, Ohio, facility on Aug. 22.
