InterDrone, the International Drone Conference & Exposition, officially kicked off today at the Rio in Las Vegas.
The event, hosted by BZ Media LLC, features more than 3,000 drone builders, flyers and buyers; 104 classes and panels; and nearly 100 exhibiting companies in 148 booths.
Chris Anderson, CEO of 3D Robotics and founder of DIY Drones, delivered today’s opening keynote address. More than 120 industry experts will be speaking at the show.
“InterDrone is the largest commercial drone conference and expo in North America this year, reaching every constituency in this red-hot market,” says Ted Bahr, chairman of InterDrone. “More than 150 media and association partners on five continents have helped build InterDrone into the premier ‘big tent’ commercial drone event on this continent.”
The InterDrone technical program spreads across three conferences: Drone TechCon, for builders, engineers and software developers; Drone Flyer, for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) pilots and operators; and Drone Business, for drone dealers and service businesses.
Other events include a Yes-Fly Zone for drone demos in the exhibit hall; the InterDrone Film Festival; the Women in Drones networking luncheonp; The Hanger, a separate ballroom featuring UAV start-up companies; and The Bench, a cluster of law firms standing ready to answer the evolving questions surrounding commercial drone use.
BZ Media also partnered with the CTIA-The Wireless Association to allow attendees going to CTIA Super Mobility 2015 to also attend InterDrone. Super Mobility 2015 badge holders gain free “expo badge” attendance for InterDrone, while InterDrone badge holders gain similar free access to Super Mobility 2015, with express shuttle bus service between the event sites running during show hours.
Next year, InterDrone will be held at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas Sept 7-9.
