‘Fair Hunting’ Drone Legislation Proposed in Minnesota

A new law regarding the use of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) has been proposed in the Minnesota State Legislature.

According to the text of the legislation, “A person may not use an unmanned aircraft system to take, harm or harass a wild animal.”

The bill, S.F.0124, was introduced on Jan. 17 by State Sen. Dan Schoen. Speaking to CBS Minnesota, Schoen explained that he proposed the bill to push for “fair hunting” practices.

The legislation has now been referred to Minnesota’s Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Legacy Finance Committee.
