DropIn Inc. – a provider of technology for live, on-demand video for insurers – has expanded its suite of software for policy acquisition and management by launching a beta version of the technology for drones.
The stream features two-way audio, allowing adjusters to direct drone pilots to the exact area they’d like to cover – essentially placing the adjusters in the driver’s seat while they are in their office, DropIn explains.
According to the company, the technology presents another convenience for insurers who seek to preview risk for underwriting by supplementing any current live video they use for policy acquisition and claim management purposes.
DropIn notes that drones minimize the risk to claims professionals during damage assessment rooftop inspections, but also, in the instance of a catastrophe, adjusters will no longer be restricted from accessing an insured property. The live-streamed aerial coverage also helps insurers process more claims in a shorter period of time.
“With the fires in the west and the flooding down south, providing adjusters access to drones will save a lot of time and frustration for the claimant experiencing the loss and the adjuster trying to help,” says Louis Ziskin, founder of DropIn.
