Parts of a new Hollywood movie are being filmed with a drone in central London, with UAViate, a drone operations and consultancy firm based in the U.K., selected as the drone consultancy company.
To get aerial views for action thriller “London Has Fallen,” the sequel to “Olympus Has Fallen,” UAViate is coordinating a strategic partnership with Cloud 12 for project management, which includes securing all permissions with the Diplomatic Protection Group, NATS (air traffic control) and the Civil Aviation Authority; liaising with the film production team; and undertaking risk assessments and hazard analysis.
UAViate will also be ensuring the flights can be completed safely in conjunction with Cloud 12, which will take operational control on the filming days.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be asked once again to lend our services to a major film production,” says John Gore, business development manager of UAViate. The movie will feature actors including Morgan Freeman and Gerard Butler.
On March 6, UAViate said on Twitter that it was currently on the movie set with Cloud 12 ‘with an aircraft slightly heavier than 20kg.’
