Vaughan, Ontario-based Drone Delivery Canada (DDC) has signed a commercial agreement with Montreal, Quebec-based TECSYS Inc., a provider of supply-chain solutions for health systems and hospitals.
Under the partnership, the two will collaborate on the design, development and implementation of a drone delivery solution to expand the logistics capabilities of TECSYS.
Using DDC’s logistics platform, the companies will work on customized depot-to-depot and depot-to-consumer solutions for the healthcare supply-chain vertical.
If the testing and development are successful, the partners plan to establish a definitive commercial agreement once Canada’s finalized drone legislation is in place (estimated for the fourth quarter of this year).
“We are the only drone delivery company in Canada to successfully achieve beyond visual line of sight testing and are very pleased to announce this agreement with TECSYS – which is another very big win for us,” comments Tony Di Benedetto, CEO of DDC. “Working with TECSYS, we see great opportunities to serve the healthcare sector across North America. We’re aware of many opportunities to improve rural healthcare by using drones, and by working with TECSYS, an innovation leader in the field, we will develop healthcare solutions.”
