As part of the New York City Drone Film Festival (NYCDFF), Liberty Science Center (LSC) is hosting “Day of Drones” this Sunday.
According to LSC, visitors can take part in activities such as watching flight demonstrations and NYCDFF film screenings, meeting drone builders and pilots, and trying first-person-view goggles.
Paul Hoffman, president and CEO of LSC and a member of the 2016 NYCDFF jury, says, “As the drone-building and drone-filmmaking community grows, we can serve as a community resource – teaching people of all ages how drones work and how to fly them.”
LSC is a 300,000-square-foot nonprofit learning center in Liberty State Park, located on the Jersey City bank of the Hudson near the Statue of Liberty. LSC touts itself as the most visited museum in New Jersey, as well as the largest interactive science center in the New York City-New Jersey metropolitan area.
“The NYCDFF team is excited to partner with Liberty Science Center for ‘Day of Drones,’” says Randy Scott Slavin, festival founder and director. “The science center’s commitment to sharing the magic of drones will help introduce the wonder of drones and drone filmmaking to a whole new audience.”
