403_458884151 Canadian Police Force Purchasing Unmanned Aerial SystemThe Criminal Property Forteiture Fund of Manitoba is giving C$205,000 to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to purchase new equipment, including an unmanned aerial system (UAS).

According to a report on CBC News, the UAS will be used for applications such as search and rescue, as well as “critical incident investigations.”

The RCMP on Prince Edward Island reportedly has been using a UAS – a small, remote-controlled helicopter – since the beginning of the year.

The Los Angeles Police Department recently received two Draganflyer X6 UAS from the Seattle Police Department, and the New York Police department is looking into using UAS as well.
