AeroVironment Inc., a Monrovia, Calif.-based provider of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and electric transportation solutions, has appointed Raymond Cook senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately.
The company's electric-powered, hand-launched UAS generate and process data for military, public safety and commercial applications.
Cook succeeds Teresa Covington, who has served as interim CFO since Feb. 5 and will remain vice president of finance. The company’s announcement follows an extensive search conducted by the board of directors with the assistance of a global executive search firm.
“Raymond’s nearly 30 years of financial experience, combined with high-tech manufacturing expertise, is an ideal fit for AeroVironment,” says Tim Conver, chairman and CEO.
Prior to joining AeroVironment, Cook was senior vice president and CFO of Silicon Image Inc., a provider of video, audio and data connectivity solutions for mobile, consumer electronics and enterprise markets, in Sunnyvale, Calif.
In May, AeroVironment announced other senior leadership changes and cited “new market opportunities for large UAS and commercial UAS,” according to Conver.
