In an effort to demystify and clarify current Canadian regulations, safe operation guidelines and risk management of flying drones, Okanagan College, in cooperation with the Kelowna and District Flying Club, is hosting a free information session open to the public.
Because the popularity of unmanned aerial vehicles has grown abuzz in the last few years, awareness about the safe use of the technology is of the utmost importance, says the British Columbia-based college.
The session will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Kelowna campus lecture theater.
Attendees will hear from a panel of experts, including representatives from Okanagan College, the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Nav Canada, and a commercial insurance agent. The session will be followed with a Q&A period.
