Netherlands-based unmanned aerial systems (UAS) manufacturer Aerialtronics and Bosch Security Projects have initiated a strategic cooperation aimed at making video camera-equipped drones for improved security applications.
The systems would be made up of Aerialtronics' small Altura UAS and Bosch's security cameras, which function in both darkness and daylight. An infrared light can also be added for certain situations.
“The advantage of drones is that they are extremely flexible and quick to activate when the situation requires,” explains Robin van de Putte, founder of Aerialtronics. “Thanks to drones, security operators can obtain real-time video imagery of extended scenarios as well as specific details, getting priceless information about the actual state of a situation.”
These situations include the following, according to Aerialtronics: firefighting, gas detection, crowd control, search-and-rescue, and accident and crime-scene investigations.
