The Vermont Center for Geographic Information, a division of the Agency of Commerce and Community Development (VCGI), is holding a webinar on Jan. 27 entitled “Contracting for UAS Services.”

According to VCGI, presenters will be Jon Budreski, co-founder of Airshark, the state’s first commercial unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) company, and Jarlath O’Neil-Dunne, director of the University of Vermont’s Spatial Analysis Lab, where he leads the UAS team.

VCGI says the webinar, held 3:00-4:00 p.m. EST, will present the following topics:

  • UAS provide us with novel ways of capturing overhead, remotely sensed data, but what should you consider when contracting for UAS services?
  • What are the capabilities and limitations of UAS?
  • Can UAS data replace aerial and satellite imagery or ground surveys?
  • How does one find a capable vendor?
