A water-management company in Spain is testing out unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to survey underground tanks in Barcelona.

According to a report from CNET, Sociedad General de Aguas de Barcelona's water solutions brand, Aqualogy, has done a test run of a UAV that runs through the city’s water-retention pipes responsible for keeping wastewater out of the Mediterranean.

An operator remotely pilots the UAV, which transmits a video of the scene so that he can perform an inspection of the system without having to go underground.
