UAVs Become Part of Cast and Crew in Hollywood Film

For an upcoming motion picture, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were not only featured in the storyline but were also used as a part of production.

According to an article on Mashable, the movie ‘The November Man,’ which comes out on Aug. 27 and features stars such as Pierce Brosnan, incorporates spying UAVs into the plot.

A UAV operator and photographer were originally just hired for two weeks of filming, but their job was extended almost four months when director Roger Donaldson decided to use their services for filming the movie itself.

Back in June, seven aerial photo and video production companies asked the Federal Aviation Administration for regulatory exemptions that would allow the film and television industry to use UAVs.
