The National Weather Service (NWS) has deployed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to more easily evaluate the damage following a recent tornado in Kentucky.

According to a report from WKYT, the NWS was able to see from the aerial footage where the storm – which had a strength of EF-1 – made its two-mile mark in Scott County.

The UAV, which was lent from the captain of the county’s fire department, quickly showed “the true path of the storm,” Scott Donovan, the county’s emergency management director, told the news agency.

The full report can be found here.
