Twitter has announced an update to its Periscope live video app: Users will now be able to broadcast live directly from a DJI drone.

Leveraging the existing integration with the GoPro HERO cameras and the newly enabled DJI drone broadcast functionality, Periscope is also launching a dedicated GoPro and drones featured channel.

In addition, other new features include the ability to save broadcasts beyond 24 hours and a way to search that makes it easy to find broadcasts – both livestreams and replays – across several categories.

The updates will be available in the coming weeks. The ability to broadcast from a DJI drone will only be available on iOS devices.

Periscope is a Twitter-owned app that lets users share and experience live video. Named Apple’s app of the year in 2015, Periscope reports that more than 110 years of live video are watched via mobile apps each day, and since launching on March 26, 2015, users have created over 200 million live broadcasts.
