InterDrone, the International Drone Conference & Exposition, officially kicked off yesterday at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.
According to conference host BZ Media LLC, the event is being attended by more than 3,500 drone builders, flyers and buyers; featuring 121 classes and panels; and showcasing nearly 160 exhibiting companies in 230 booths.
Michael Huerta, administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration, delivered the grand opening keynote yesterday at 10:00.
Other show events include a Yes-Fly Zone for drone demos in the exhibit hall, product talks in the Drone Theatre, the InterDrone Film Festival, and the Women in Drones Networking Luncheon. In addition, InterDrone’s “after hours” features four different types of informal gatherings DJI owners, entrepreneurs running their own drone service businesses, open-source projects for drones, and drone repair.
“InterDrone is the largest commercial drone conference and expo in North America this year – reaching every constituency in this red-hot market,” comments Ted Bahr, chairman of InterDrone. “More than 260 media and association partners on six continents have helped build InterDrone into the premier ‘Big Tent’ commercial drone event. Attendance is up almost 30 percent over 2015, and there are 56 percent more exhibiting companies than last year.”
BZ Media has also partnered with the CTIA–The Wireless Association to allow attendees going to CTIA Super Mobility 2016 to also attend InterDrone. CTIA Super Mobility 2016 badge holders gain free expo badge and keynote attendance for InterDrone, and InterDrone badge holders gain free expo badge access to CTIA Super Mobility 2016.
Next year, InterDrone will be held at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Sept. 18-20.
