The French are reportedly being plagued by a number of mysterious flights from small unmanned aerial systems (UAS) over nuclear power plants.

The New York Times reports that during roughly the past month, security guards at 13 power plants in France have reported small, non-military UAS hovering over the area. Most of the incidents have happened at sites of EDF, which is a main supplier of electricity in the country.

Officials have not been able to track down the operators, who would face a fine of around $94,000 and a year in jail if caught flying the devices within a certain perimeter of a nuclear power plant.
