The Small UAV Coalition has announced that its executive director, Michael Drobac, will speak at the second Drones Data X Conference, which will bring together unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry leaders and decision-makers in Westport, Ireland.
Taking place on Nov. 6-8, the conference will focus on the vast potential of UAVs across a wide range of industries, including agriculture, oil and gas, mining, and photography, as well as humanitarian and scientific applications.
The first Drones Data X Conference, which Drobac also attended, was held in May in Santa Cruz, Calif. Drobac is also a senior policy advisor at law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld LLP, which represents the coalition.
Other speakers include Andy Cox, chief engineer of Facebook’s UAV team; NASA’s Parimal Kopardekar; Verifly CEO Jay Bregman; Airmap CEO Ben Marcus; Ernest Earon, chief technology officer (CTO) and co-founder of PrecisionHawk; Romeo Durscher, director of DJI; Travis Mason of Google[x]’s policy team; Malloy Aeronautics CEO Chris Malloy; Will Sauer, Skycatch’s director of finance and operations; David Moloney, CTO and founder of Movidius Ltd.; Chelsea Sabo, robotics research assistant for the Green Brain Project; and Rear Admiral Mark Mellett DSM, deputy chief of staff for the Irish Defence Forces.
The Small UAV Coalition was formed in August 2014 with a goal of advancing a regulatory environment that will support the safe, reliable and timely operation of small UAVs in the U.S. and abroad.
