Simlat, a provider of training solutions for unmanned vehicles, has developed what it says are high-fidelity simulation capabilities for unmanned aircraft system (UAS)-based mining inspections.
The mining package, as well as the utilities inspection package introduced a few months ago, was designed to provide a further level of detailed training for UAS operators on a specific civil application, says Simlat.
According to the company, the mining simulator allows UAS operators to experience various aspects of the mining workflow before they implement it in real life. The 3D-modeled terrain is a high-resolution location in Hawaii.
Simlat says it supports more than 50 UAS programs and training centers in 25 countries.
