Switzerland-based drone company senseFly, a Parrot company, says VPS, the exclusive distributor of senseFly products in the United Arab Emirates, has become the first company with a commercial drone permit issued by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA).

VPS offers senseFly’s eXom, eBee, eBee Ag and eBee RTK drones; eMotion ground control software; Postflight Terra photogrammetry software, powered by Pix4D; and unmanned aerial vehicle support and training.

VPS says it covers the “survey, GIS, inspection, humanitarian and agriculture industries.”

Philip Angell, owner and managing director of VPS, says the authorization means “future commercial [remotely piloted aircraft system] operators are able to purchase a senseFly drone … while also receiving expert advice on how to officially register their aircraft and getting the training required to meet the minimum standards stipulated by the DCAA,” according to a post from senseFly.
