PowerVision Technology Group has announced that its PowerEye cinematography drone is now available for global pre-order.

PowerEye features a dual-viewing capability that allows multiple users to see video simultaneously from a first-person view (FPV) and subject-matter view. The dual view is facilitated by an FPV camera in the nose of the aircraft, as well as a gimbal-mounted camera.

Via the PowerEye app, dual viewing can be managed by a single person using one mobile device in either a split screen or picture-in-picture mode. Two people can also manage the dual view by using two mobile devices.

The drone is available in two camera models: The PowerEye Professional is equipped with a Panasonic Lumix G 11mm F2.5 ASPH 4K UHD camera, and the PowerEye Thermal is equipped with a thermal/natural light switchable camera that comes with two integrated light sensors and two lenses. Through the PowerEye app, users can switch between the thermal and the natural light setting.

The drone also features object-detection technology that can detect flight obstacles and sound an alert within 10 meters.

Including the battery and propellers, the drone weighs 8.7 lbs. and has a maximum payload of 6.6 lbs. In addition, the aircraft has a flight time of up to 29.5 minutes. For easier transportation, the aircraft’s legs and rotors can collapse, the company says.

The PowerEye Professional is priced at $3,988 and includes the PowerEye aircraft with a full set of propellers, the Panasonic Lumix G 11mm F2.5 ASPH camera, a rolling carrying case, one remote control, one extra pair of propellers, a base station, a battery, and a battery charger. PowerVision says customers can inquire about the price of the thermal version by emailing sales.us@powervision.me.

PowerEye pre-order is available at the Powervision online store; shipping is scheduled for December.
